There are currently 2million+ Nokia N9 users today (that's more than Nokia Lumia users today).
So how come WhatsApp is not available on the N9?
Microsoft is good at lobbying to get the most popular and useful apps on its platform, as this helps boosts its sales.
I believe this is Nokia's responsibility to make certain necessities available on its products. Nokia has failed to bring WhatsApp to MeeGo and the N9. so its up to you N9 users to appeal for it, the N9 is 2million people strong, that's significant enough to get your voices heard!

ReplyDeleteI'm the petition organizer. I should clarify that "less than 1000 signatures are needed right now to make this happen!" is not an accurate statement. There is no finite number of signatures in which WhatsApp will respond to - the more the better. But when we reach 5000, we will start promoting the petition to WhatsApp Inc and request a response/answer. For now, the best thing that all of you N9 users can do is as the author states: share/forward/tweet/like/email the petition in all means possible. We are a big community and if we coordinate our efforts we can do this.

ReplyDeleteI was recently a WebOS user but was searching for something new when hp jumped the train and no new hardware with webOS would be made. I found the N9 thank God. I'm so happy Nokia released this phone and are bringing great updates at least for now. I thougt I would miss the webOS community and its spirit but it seems like it exits and is gearing up for MeeGo as well! And I also got the possibility to use all great developers apps and tweaks beside tbe app store just as with webOS, lovely.
Keep up the good spirit N9 users. I will be here until I can't use MeeGo any longer. Nokia can't trash such great os packed in a great suit, that would be stupid. I will get my mom to buy a N9 as well.
