The Lumia 610 has NFC? Seems to be the case after WPBench (a Windows Phone benchmarking tool) spotted a Lumia 610 with the NFC label.
NFC has always been speculated to be one of the features added to windows Phone tango, even ZTE's WP7 tango phone (ZTE Orbit) is sporting an NFC chip (according to its manufacturers).
NFC is available in most of the new Symbian devices (N9, 701, 700), as Nokia is a strong advocate for the technology.
During the unveiling of the Lumia 610 at the just concluded MWC in Barcelona, Nokia failed to mention anything about it having an NFC chip or having NFC support, so unless they are keeping it under the wraps for now, as you know they have hidden phone features from us before.
That would be an added bonus to the Lumia 610, an already low budget wp7 phone, and for it to have NFC capabilities is a good thing, the possibilities with NFC include wireless payments, wireless connectivity with accessories or any NFC enabled device
So what is NFC?
Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio
communication with each other by touching them together or bringing
them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimetres.
Present and anticipated applications include contactless transactions,
data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such
as Wi-Fi Communication is also possible between an NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip, called a "tag"
