Nokia taking over in Austraila, goes out of stock

Lumia 710 & 800 out of stock in Austraila

the demand for the Nokia Lumia's high, so high that it could touch the sky (poor effort at rapping there)...

So evidently, the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 (both black and cyan) have gone out of stock over at Optus Austraila (leading Telecom providers in Austraila). When I read this over at wmpoweruser, my first thought was "did they have low sales expectations" for the Lumia devices, and ordered just a handful as a precautionary measure in case they don't sell?

Well, they have got their answer, the Lumia series (just 2 of them) are "smoking the competition", Optus has sold every single one of its Lumia 710 and 800, It's a BIG effing deal! Do you know what that means? people are choosing Windows Phone over the iPhone and most importantly over Android's phone, the likes of Nexus One, HTC Evo and the rest of them.

Lumia out of stock, but Android still available

I am curious though as to how many units were sold exactly? and whether these buyers were 1st-time buyers or existing users who switched from other mobiles OSes? either way, Nokia's done a great job, in a space of a year, they have announced 5 Lumia devices and these aren't just generic phones, each is unique in its own right.

Now can we get Lumia 900 in the US please!
